Good news to share

Smile Group is thrilled to announce confirmation of a three-year funding programme from the National Lottery Community Fund. This vital financial support will enable us to build capacity within our organisation and meet the growing need for community-based perinatal mental health support across Cheshire East.

A heartfelt thank you

We would like to take the opportunity to thank our funders and to show our immense appreciation for the support from families, stakeholders and friends of Smile who have helped us through a challenging period of time to keep our services running in the interim period while we awaited funding decisions. We would especially like to thank our team for going above and beyond and for the families we support for their patience and understanding.

While we will be continuing to offer a reduced service in the immediate future, we are excited to be embarking on a recruitment process that will enable us to resume our full service and we’ll ensure you’re updated on this as promptly as possible.

Building our team

This investment is testament to the proven impact of our blend of services, providing compassionate, safe spaces to enable honest conversations in the transition to parenthood. It gives us a valuable opportunity to underpin our sustainability and evolve as an organisation. This means we will be building our team and creating a number of roles to support our growth – the first of which is a new role within our organisation as a Group Facilitator.

The Group Facilitator role is crucial in the co-delivery of our four peer support groups (in Crewe, Sandbach, Congleton and Macclesfield) and will equate to 16-18 hours per week. This role will support with administration associated with group delivery as well as ensuring our groups offer a warm, welcoming environment for parents and babies/toddlers. The full role description and application documents are available by emailing

Thanks again to the National Lottery Community Fund and to everyone who has supported us so that we can continue to meet the needs of families experiencing perinatal mental health challenges across Cheshire East. #NationalLottery
