Honest Crust tops the £2,500 mark in charity donations to Smile Group

North West-based Honest Crust Sourdough Pizza has donated a healthy slice of sales of Margheritas to Cheshire’s perinatal mental health charity, Smile Group, contributing a whopping 12-month total of £2,584.

Honest Crust chose Smile Group as its annual charity partner in Spring 2022, moved by the organisation’s work to support families in Cheshire East affected by perinatal mental health challenges.

Based in the popular Macclesfield eatery, Picturedrome, Honest Crust has generously donated 25p from the sales of Margheritas to Smile over the course of the year-long partnership.

Set up in 2011 by local mums, Ruth Williams and Natalie Nuttall, Smile offers families a blend of services, from weekly peer support groups in Macclesfield, Congleton, Sandbach and Nantwich to 1-1 talk therapy, home visits and monthly family sessions.

The cumulative contribution from Honest Crust equates to 10 hours of Wellbeing Practitioners’ time, supervision and tech costs for a three month period, to support service delivery.

Commenting on the partnership, Ruth Williams, Operations Director at Smile Group said: “We are blown away by the amount contributed by Honest Crust and are extremely grateful for their support.

“As a local business with an appetite to give back, partnerships like these are integral to the sustainability of our service.”

Rich Carver at Honest Crust, added: “As a father of four myself I’m fully aware of the challenges that new parents face. Smile provide essential support to those who need it and we’re so happy to be able to help in our own way by making these regular donations”.
