Vacancies for three Trustees at Smile

Smile Group has openings for three new Trustees to join our Board to support our ongoing responsible growth.

An overview

Smile Group is a registered charity supporting new and expectant parents with their mental health across Cheshire East.

Smile Group was established in 2011 by two mums, Natalie Nuttall and Ruth Williams, who had personal experience of perinatal mental illness and saw a glaring gap in community support.

The charity runs weekly peer support groups out of Children’s Centres in Macclesfield, Congleton, Sandbach and Nantwich, as well as talk therapy, monthly family sessions and a home visits programme. Smile Group is supported by national, regional and local funding and is cited in the Royal College of GPs’ Perinatal Mental Health Toolkit of Best Practice.

Smile Group has an active and productive board of Trustees who provide support and scrutiny for the paid staff in the organisation. Due to the upcoming retirement of some of our longer standing Board members we are looking to recruit two or three new Trustees.

Trustee roles

  • Fathers/Non-birth parent with lived experience of perinatal mental health issues either for themselves or supporting their partner;
  • Business growth, particularly from start up to established organisation;
